Last month, Derek Jeter had a deal in place to buy the Miami Marlins from Jeffrey Loria.
Today, Major League Baseball unanimously agreed to sell the Marlins to the group led by Jeter and Bruce Sherman.

Even though the deal has been agreed upon, there is still work to be done. Both sides are close to sealing the deal, and should do so “within the next week”.
